In order for this unit to charge the iPod it must be hard-wired to your head unit power and ground.

The iPod connector cable works with all 1998-up aftermarket Blaupunkt stereos that can control a Blaupunkt CD changer (not compatible with factory-installed Blaupunkt systems). When powered on, 'Blaupunkt' welcome appears briefly on iPod display. ID3 tags will then show artist and current track title on iPod display. Car radio display will vary.
